LIFE-H

To complete this training, you must have previously completed the HDM-DCP training.

Training on the Assessment of Life Habits (LIFE-H) enables participants to better understand the usefulness and benefits of measuring social participation of teenagers, adults, and seniors with disabilities as part of their professional activities. It also aims to introduce them to the instructions, questionnaire, results calculation procedures and use of the LIFE-H data.

This training is provided by one of the certified trainers from the International Network on the Disability Production Process. It lasts 6 hours or it can be offered in customized form.

Training objectives

  • To situate life habits assessment inside the spectrum of habilitation/rehabilitation, social support and social integration processes.
  • To understand principles that underlie the development of LIFE-H – Teenagers, adults, and seniors, and its metrics.
  • To master the content of the different life habits categories and test out the life habits accomplishment scale.
  • To establish links between the life habits evaluation and prioritization of rehabilitation objectives.
  • To discuss possible applications of the LIFE-H – Teenagers, adults, and seniors in clinical programs.

Benefits of LIFE-H training

Participants in this training understand the benefits of measuring social participation as part of their professional or research activities. They make sure to better understand instructions, to distinguish a person’s life habits and capabilities, and appropriately answer the questions in this assessment tool. Following the training, the participant will be able to use MHAVIE to:

  • The creation of profiles for satisfaction and life habit accomplishment
  • Follow-up on changes in quality of social participation
  • The development of individualized intervention plans
  • The development and evaluation of programs and services.

Participants in this training come from a variety of fields including education, labour, health and social services, public administration and disability rights organizations. These participants are the most involved in:

  • Clinical programs development, management, and intervention dedicated to persons with disabilities;
