HDM-DCP applied in mental health

This course allows participants to better understand the usefulness of the Human Development Model – Disability Creation Process (HDM-DCP) applied to the field of mental health. Throughout the presentation, a concrete example of a person living with a mental health disorder is offered according to the different objectives of the course. Several exercises accompany these objectives to illustrate how to apply the model in one’s intervention.

This 6-hour course is offered by a certified instructor from the International Network on the Disability Creation Process.

Course objectives

  • Identify and differentiate the components of the HDM-DCP;
  • Identify and differentiate the qualifiers of the HDM-DCP;
  • Reproduce the general outline of the HDM-DCP;
  • Understand the values and usefulness of the HDM-DCP;
  • Compare the model with the principles of mental health recovery;
  • Be able to apply the model in the field of mental health.

Participants in this course will be able to deepen their knowledge of an integrative conceptual model that can help them assess, according to their discipline, the situation of people with a mental health disorder by providing them with tools to promote the social participation of these people.
